Slow Start

May 18, 2011

Once again it feels like  a slow start to the paddling season in Alberta. For the past month or so there has been lots of buzz on the internet about paddling, most notably the Whitewater Grand Prix. All I could do was daydream about boating. That all changed this past weekend when the Rockies classics came up.  I was finally able to get out on Cataract Creek and the Sheep River, perfect runs for some early season paddling, despite the snow that lined the rivers. I was feeling so good I even took the extra effort to trudge through the thigh deep snow on the portage trails to run Titan and Leviathan a second time.  Enjoy a few of the pictures we took this weekend, there will be more on the way as this season gets rolling.
